One of the famous tourist destination in Indonesia besides Bali, Jakarta and Jogjakarta is Solo. Solo is located in central Java 60 km east of Java. There is daily flight from Kuala Lumpur to Solo by Air Asia, from Singapore there 3 times a week flight from Silk Air. You can also reach Solo from Jakarta. There are 7 flights a day from Jakarta to Solo which cost only about US$ 22, or you can use train from Jakarta to Solo.Solo is about 100 m above the sea level, average temperature is 24 to 33 Celcius surronded by 3 mountain, Merapi( the most active mountain in the world), Merbabu and Lawu. About 30 km east Solo the is a archeological place called Sangiran, there you can find fossil of Homo Sapienses. Solo also has famous rive called Bengawan Solo which is very famous in Japan because of Bengawan Solo song created by Gesang. Bengawan Solo is the longest river in Java, it's about 600 km long and the site of several notable paleoanthropology sites of early hominid remains
30 minutes to the north of Solo you can reach Ketep Pass, from there you can view the beautiful scenery of Mount Merapi, Mount Merbabu, Mount Sumbing and Mount Sindoro. Near Ketep pass there is a village called Selo, which is famous for alfafa plantation. From Selo you can also climd Mount Merapi and Mount Merbabu. 30 km2 west of Ketep Pass you can reach Borobudur, one of the Ten Wonder of the World.
Borobudur is Budhist Temple, established on ninth century and now become UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple comprises six square platforms topped by three circular platforms, and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha Statues. Borobudur is one of the most visited temple in the world beside Angkor Watt in Cambodia. 30 km west Solo, there is also a Hindus temple called Prambanan. Prambanan was built araound 8th century. Prambanan is one of the largest Hindus temple in South East Asia. It is characterised by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu's temple and by the 47m high central building inside a large complex of individual temples. Prambanan also one of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
